The Griffin is a mythological creature dating back to 5000 B.C. that has taken many shapes and served many purposes over the centuries. A major heraldic animal, the Griffin is considered the vigilant guardian of treasure and kings. It can be seen on the shields of knights and on royal coats of arms. It may be portrayed with a lion’s body and the wings and/or head of eagle, signifying the combination of intelligence and strength (Adapted from Encyclopedia Britannica).
For Loring & Company, the Griffin has served as an emblem of stability and financial strength for over 25 years.
